We have completed the final stage of the gang way crane. The launches are looking ship shape. We have finished the major over haul of our older Crosby launch. I have never seen her look better. Special thanks to Fleet Captain Andy Weinstein & Board of Directors (BOD) member Fred Knewels, for their efforts.
Our Property maintenance projects have been going right along. Vice
Commodore Paul Lynch, Mike Keating, and other volunteers, have just about finished the pier decking project. Rear Com/ Past Com. Jack Sumski, has our building looking up to snuff.
The finances of our club are in very good shape. Patty Cohen keeps her watchful eyes on our expenditures. As you can see we have an excellent team effort in all facets of our club. The social committee, headed by Tishy Noiseux, has scheduled a fun filled activities slate. The Dolphin has certainly come a long way.
To that note the DYC has lost a long time superb member, Dick Fowler passed away recently. He had been a key member for many years. He toiled endlessly, to keep the DYC afloat, in tougher times. One of Dick’s projects was the construction of the dock house. The BOD has had a plaque made, dedicating it in his honor. We will miss him in many ways, but mostly his helpful nature. We move into the future with great expectations for the season. The dining room has many new entrees. Patty Johnson & her professional crew will be on hand, with her usual way, all summer long. This year the dining room will be open thru the fall. Patty has some surprises in store for all of us. Maybe “October fest”? Tishy & Patty will have to work on that possibility.
To All smooth and safe sailing. Have a wonderful season.
Vin Conte Com. DYC.
